Dance Academy USA Production Company the renowned San Jose dance schools premier competition team, reminds the entire Bay Area dance community that auditions to join the team will be held this Saturday, April 6th and Sunday, April 7th.
DAUPC recently took home awards in 11 categories at the NUVO Dance Competition on February 15-17th. These victories were followed up a few weeks later with 41 awards in 7 separate styles of dance at the Showbiz Talent Competition on March 2nd-3rd, and on March 22nd-24th, when 23 DAU routines received an adjudication of 5 stars and 21 routines placed 1st in their respective genres at the Starpower Dance Competition.
The Dance Academy USA Production Company (DAUPC) is an accelerated training program for those students who want additional performance opportunities. Dancers are required to take additional performance and technique classes and membership invitations are offered on an audition-only basis. All DAUPC members must re-audition every year, as the team is highly competitive, with slots available only for those that want to take their game to the next level. DAUPC has participated in countless dance competitions in the past and, in nearly each and every case, they have returned home with dozens of top awards.
Dance Academy USA’s Competition Team was established in 1991, a year after the opening of the studio. My vision was not just to have a competition team, but to provide much more for the dancers than dance. said DAU Co-founder, Jane Carter. This is why the dance team is named Production Company, because it is not just about dance. Her goal was to create an atmosphere where dancers are able to be challenged, receiving the best technique in a nurturing and encouraging environment. Having come from a father who was a 3-war vet in the military, I strongly feel that hard work, discipline, respect and teamwork creates success in and out of the dance studio.
Dance Academy USA is the largest dance studio in Northern California and has served the San Jose area dance community for over twenty years. Background: Dance Academy USA was founded in 1990 by James R. and Jane R. Carter. The business has since expanded in size, becoming the largest dance studio in Northern California with a staff with over 50 employees. Jane Carter is a graduate of San Jose State University with a degree in Human Performance and Fitness and a minor in Nutrition and Food Science. While at San Jose State University, Jane was a member of Spartan Spectrum Dance Team. While in college she was also selected as the Dole Corporation Ambassador which allowed her to teach dance in Japan. Additionally, Jane is a former dancer for the Golden State Warriors and a professional cheerleader for the San Francisco 49ers.
